The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering the Wendy’s benefits programs including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, disability, life, retirement and paid time off. The Benefits Specialist will provide day-to-day administrative support of benefit programs by responding to internal and external inquiries, providing guidance to employees regarding benefit elections and coverages, and vendor management. The Benefits Specialist will need to provide superior customer service through effective communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for the employee experience by serving as a primary contact for employees, Human Resources and vendor inquiries regarding eligibility, enrollment and benefits deductions related to health and welfare and retirement plans, and providing resolution.
  • Co-lead leave of absence administration in accordance with relevant policies. This includes, but is not limited to, processing of daily leave updates, audit of and changes to short-term disability and bonding leave payments, employee and Human Resources inquiries and vendor management of third party leave of absence administrator.
  • Maintain the integrity of the benefits enrollment and premium deduction data. Process and reconcile vendor files, and plan rate changes, and identify procedural improvements to ensure consistent administration and accuracy of employee and plan data.
  • Active partnership in Benefits Department projects that support annual goals (i.e., Annual Enrollment, communications, new program implementations, etc.). Manage key project milestones with cross-functional partners and external vendors.
  • Develop and implement annual benefits communication calendar. Utilize multi-channel approach to distribute communications and facilitate benefits education sessions to support employee engagement and understanding.
  • Coordinate employee benefit events. Provide other administrative support, including benefits survey data gathering/submissions and employee benefit verifications.

Minimum Wage

USD $60,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Wage

USD $102,000.00/Yr.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 2 years of employee benefits related experience in group insurance, disability and benefits administration, and regulation including but not limited to ERISA, PPACA, USERRA, HIPAA and COBRA highly preferred
  • Exemplary planning, organization, project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify trends that will support the Total Rewards strategy.
  • Highly collaborative with strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees. Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information in a highly responsible manner.
  • A demonstrated focus on making continuous process improvements. A strong desire to learn, consistently taking the initiative to broaden skill set.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

 

Expected Work Location (In Office): It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Wendy's Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or at other location(s) as designated by the Company. You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs. #LI-Onsite

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 7.5% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
